Myka ION brings Hulu, Boxee and other web content to your TV | engadget

It's been almost a full year since we heard a peep from the fine folks at Myka, but it looks like we could be talking about 'em a lot more often judging by the specs list on its latest contraption. The simply-titled ION is an Atom-based media PC that relies on NVIDIA's Ion graphics set and a customized interface that brings Hulu, Boxee and pretty much any other web content you can stumble upon to your television. Within, you'll find a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom 330 CPU, up to 4GB of RAM, ten USB 2.0 ports, VGA / DVI / HDMI outputs, an eSATA connector, Ethernet and plenty of audio outputs. The fanless design ensures that things remain quiet, and for those oozing cash, a Blu-ray drive, HDD and WiFi module can be implanted. It's up for order right now starting at $379, but you'll be stuck waiting four to six weeks for delivery.

The Moshi Voice Control Travel Alarm Clock » Coolest Gadgets

When you’re traveling, it’s always a gamble relying on an alarm clock you’ve never used before. You could always set an alarm on your cellphone, but I’ve owned cellphones before that didn’t have the most reliable alarm clocks in them. Well now you can own a clock that is easy to set and you’d know is perfectly trustworthy. It’s also made for travel to make your life easier. You can set the time and the alarm clock all by your voice. Just tell it what time you want it to set the alarm for and you’re all set for the next morning. It’d be nice if it detected swear words and automatically shut off when you started yelling at the alarm in the morning. However, it doesn’t take the voice detection quite that far. It also tells you the current temperature and has a few different alarm sounds to choose from. You can purchase the clock for $24.99 through Moshi Lifestyle.

PowerSafe jumper cables take danger out of playing with electricity | CNET Reviews

The PowerSafe jumper cables look like your standard jumpers, with a pair of terminal clamps on each end. However, midway through the cables' length is a small electronic brain that monitors the state of the connections and only lets power flow when everything is hooked up just right. So, if you accidentally connect your cable backward on either end, the system will display a red warning light and the power stays off. If you accidentally touch the loose ends of a live cable, the red light glows and there are no sparks. If there's a short of any kind, even within the dead battery, the red light glows and everyone remains safe.

Apps of the week: Getting the best read on your smartphone | CNN

(CNN) -- The e-reader market is diversifying, and people who want devices to display digital books now have several choices: Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Reader and, as of last week, Barnes & Noble's Nook. Throw into the mix upcoming tablet computers, and netbooks that perform double-duty as Web browsers and e-readers, and things start to get confusing.

MacBook Unibody review (late 2009) | SlashGear

With the launch of the unibody MacBook, Apple have not only completed the transition to their newest laptop aesthetic but also narrowed the gap between their entry-level and Pro ranges. Amazon stops selling Sprint-powered Kindle | CNET

Just weeks after announcing a new $279 international version of its Kindle e-book reader, Amazon has chopped $20 off its price and made that model its only Kindle offering for both the domestic U.S. and international markets. In the process, the company has eliminated the U.S. version of the device, which used Sprint as the carrier for the Kindle's built-in wireless capabilities. Now, for better or worse, new Kindles will tap into AT&T's data network, which will also be the wireless provider behind Barnes & Noble's upcoming Nook e-book reader.
