iPhone 3GS Supreme » Coolest Gadgets

Just when you thought that the worldwide economy has started to recover and people would be careful about their spending, along comes the $3.2 million iPhone 3GS Supreme from Goldstriker. Taking 10 months to create, it was commissioned by an “Australian gold mining magnate” – someone who clearly has tons of cash but unfortunately for him, cannot afford any good taste in fashion. The iPhone 3GS Supreme tops all phone prices in the world, coming in a 22K solid gold casing, featturing 136 diamonds that adorn the front bezel. As for its rear logo, it boasts 53 flawless diamonds while the front navigation button holds an extremely rare diamond at 7.1 cts.

WOW!!!

MacBook Unibody review (late 2009) | SlashGear

With the launch of the unibody MacBook, Apple have not only completed the transition to their newest laptop aesthetic but also narrowed the gap between their entry-level and Pro ranges. On face level that can only mean good things for the end consumer, but does the $999 MacBook really represent the bargain Apple tell us it is?

Rumor: Apple May Be Working on XL Tablets Running Full Mac OS X | Gizmodo

"Not only Apple may be working on a 10-inch tablet, but also in 13" and 15" models, one running Mac OS X.

This source claims that the two touchscreen prototypes—made of aluminum, but on the shape of big iPhones—were in a factory in Shenzuen, China. One of them "was running Mac OS X 10.5." When I asked, the source didn't know if these were built for demonstration purposes, or if they were preproduction units. The company has a tight relation with Apple but "it's not FoxConn." ... info at link

Snow Leopard Review: Lightened and Enlightened | Gizmodo

"OS X Snow Leopard seems to do nothing really new. And yet, it could be their most important OS since 10.0.0.

Snow Leopard, as a follow up to Leopard, is almost absurdly insubstantial at first glance. The new operating system takes the same old boring, every day tasks like opening files, for example, and makes them happen subtly faster. But that performance is not being utilized by any third-party programs right now. And there are practically no new first-party programs by Apple. Nope, mostly just rewritten old ones and dozens of little interface tweaks. Some fanboys will ask, incredulously, "This is a new operating system?!" Those people are missing the point." ... pics and videos at link

BookArc turns your MacBook into a desktop | CNET

"If you want to use your MacBook as a desktop (and I don't see why), there's now an easy and pretty way.

Mac accessory maker Twelve South released BookArc, a metal stand designed to hold any Apple MacBook, from the MacBook Air to the 17-inch MacBook Pro. The stand is designed to hold the laptop in a vertical position and therefore supposedly should free up your desk space. The BookArc has a compact footprint of just 10 inches long by 4 inches wide, which is significantly smaller than that of any MacBook.

The problem with this design, of course, is that the BookArc can only hold a MacBook when it's closed. To make use of the computer, you'll need a separate monitor and a set of keyboard and mouse as well as the video cable to connect the monitor to the MacBook. These extras will put quite a few things on the desk, instead of just the laptop itself." ... details and pics at link

Mac OS X Snow Leopard First Look • Register Hardware

Mac OS X Snow Leopard First Look

Apple's 10.6 release - aka Snow Leopard - faces even more than the usual challenge. It's an important engineering release that isn't being sold on features - because there aren't really that many new ones. It also leaves behind Macs as recent as three years old - it will only install on Intel hardware. And Leopard now works so well, many will wonder why they should risk things at all?

Could an Apple HDTV plus an iPhone remote equal living room bliss? | CNET

"In a note to clients Thursday, Gene Munster, a senior analyst at investment bank Piper Jaffray, floated the notion that Apple would take a bite out of the TV market in 2011 by introducing its first television.

To help support his claim, Munster cited the more than 48 million iPhones and iPod Touches out there that could be used as TV remotes or interactive game controllers.

Of course it's just speculation at this point, but that describes 99 percent of Apple-related blogging anyway, right? And in that vein I think an iPhone/iTouch enabled HDTV would be pretty dang cool if the company did it right. Let's call it the "iHDTV." ... con't at link
