250GB PS3 Slim coming in November for $350 | CNET

"Sony Computer Entertainment America on Thursday announced that a new 250GB variation of the PlayStation 3 Slim will be available beginning November 3 for $349.99. The PS3 hardware will otherwise remain the same as the 120GB flavor of the Slim, which costs $50 less. The console maker will also continue to sell the physically larger, previous model of the PS3 which comes with either an 80GB or 160GB hard drive."

"Epic Games Vice President Mark Rein said in a recent interview that although the video game industry has historically seen console refreshes every four to six years, there's no need to follow that strategy this time around. Consumers just aren't ready yet, he said.

"Over half the users who played Gears of War 2 so far do not have HDTVs," Rein told Eurogamer in an interview. "My point is, of the systems that are out there now, the majority of them aren't plugged into HDTVs. So there's no way we're ready for the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox Whatever." ... more info at link

"There is quite a bit of new content hitting PlayStation Home today, says PlayStation Blog. First, there’s the SOCOM Tactical Operations Center space where players can congregate to discuss strategies, check out regional leaderboards and purchase new military-themed accessories for your avatar. EA has also done some remodeling in its EA SPORTS Complex, adding Racing tracks, leaderboards, and a Racing Boost Shop.
